Fireplace: A Multifunctional Heater by Anna Falkowska

An Elegant and Modern Design for Warmth and Relaxation

Anna Falkowska, the talented designer behind the Fireplace, drew inspiration from the idea of people gathering around a fire, sharing drinks and their presence. She wanted to address the common problem of drinks becoming cold before they are finished, which led her to design a heater that can accommodate almost any kettle or mug. The choice of steel as the main material ensures durability and longevity, while the matte powder paint finish adds a touch of sophistication and prevents scratching.

What sets the Fireplace apart from other heaters on the market is its versatility. It can be used with a variety of vessels, including kettles, pots, mugs filled with tea, coffee, herbs, mulled wine, warm honey, and even essential oils. The design is made from 1kg of 3mm cut, bent, and welded steel, making it sturdy and safe to handle. After 5 hours of heating, the steel remains only gently warm, ensuring the safety of both the user and the vessels placed on top.

One of the unique features of the Fireplace is that it prevents the bottom of cups and kettles from turning black with fire, maintaining their pristine appearance. Additionally, when used as a candle holder, it creates beautiful reflections reminiscent of a real fireplace, adding a cozy ambiance to any room.

The production process of the Fireplace involves laser cutting, bending, welding, and powder painting the 3mm black steel. The use of high-quality powder paint with a matte finish and light shimmering particles ensures a flawless and long-lasting result. The production engages both machines and skilled craftsmen to achieve the highest level of quality.

With dimensions of 6cm in height and 18cm in diameter, the Fireplace is compact yet powerful. It weighs approximately 1kg, making it easy to move and place in different areas of your home or office.

The Fireplace project started in March 2018 in Wroclaw, Poland, and the first delighted customers received their heaters in September 2019. The design has been well-received, with people appreciating its unique functionality, elegant aesthetics, and safe handling.

Anna Falkowska collaborated with Zipser Design on this project, combining their expertise to bring the Fireplace to life. The design team overcame various challenges, including creating a design that could accommodate a wide range of mugs and kettles, selecting a paint that is both scratch-resistant and easy to clean, and ensuring the dimensions were safe for hands and vessels.

The Fireplace has been recognized for its outstanding design and creativity, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware, and Cookware Design category in 2021. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that demonstrate resourcefulness, technical skill, and a commitment to improving quality of life.
